We ratchet the pace back a little with a lazy lunch by the water, at “Shaun Dickens at The Boathouse”, which proves a gastromonic delight. I should have been much more diligent about taking photos, but I only managed it for desert – a deconstructed strawberry cheesecake.
I can see that I’m going to have to learn how to cultivate a lunch habit once home. Chris, with a couple of decades more practice, has it down to a fine art.
After lunch we meander into town, admiring the flint work along the way.
We’re off to see Mama Mia! Here We Go Again. I’m in two minds about a sequel but it turns out to be very good. I won’t spoil it by giving away the plot, but I will say that, as befits a diva, Cher steals the scenes she’s in, and there’s a song towards the end that doesn’t leave a dry eye in the house. If you like ABBA or if you just feel like having your spirits lifted, I highly recommend seeing it.
That’s really it for today. I did say it was a lazy day. There’s a spot of bird watching and a glorious sunset to end the day.
I did forget to mention that there was a maze in the garden yesterday, and that we got lost in it briefly.
Right after Chris proclaimed it easy. Most amusing.
I also forgot to mention that we left water out overnight, for creatures who might be thirsty. We woke to this teeny weeny froggy visitor.
